STELLAR BLACK started the way most good things do: with care, curiosity, and a little frustration.

I’m Kendra, the formulator behind the brand, and I care (probably more than necessary) about how things feel, wear, and live with you over time.

I’ve always been a formulator at heart. If there was a way to make something gentler, more effective, or more intentional, I was already experimenting—face, body, and honestly, anything I could get my hands on.

It became real when my favorite lotion was reformulated and stopped doing what it was supposed to do. So I made my own. Then my young nieces, kids with sensitive skin and allergies, tried it and felt less itchy, more comfortable. My family prompted me to turn what I was making into a business.

Once I started, I noticed something else: people loved how some popular brands smelled, but didn’t love the headaches, irritation, or inconsistency that came with them. So I learned how to make similar products more effective, more considerate, and more consistent. I craft body care and home fragrance that earns its place - products that respect your skin, your sinuses, and your space.

At the core of this brand is a simple belief: thoughtful formulas and cultural memory matter. Black culture, nostalgia, music, and lived experience guide how I formulate, name, and build every product.

Everything here is designed to be understated, on purpose. I care deeply about ingredients, balance, and what happens after you’ve lived with a product for a while—how it feels, how it lingers, and whether it truly adds something to your day.

My customers aren’t just shoppers, they’re part of what I’m building. I want you to feel informed, included, and confident about what you’re using. I want you to feel like you did something kind for yourself—and that it’s worth returning to.
